The East Hants RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SCEU) ain’t messin’ around. On July 21, they cornered a Jeep Cherokee on Mill Village Rd. in Shubenacadie. The driver and passenger tried to make a run for it, but the boys caught up with them on Indian Rd. in Mill Village.
Inside the Jeep, they found crack cocaine, some stacks of cash, and a couple of phones. They also searched a home and another vehicle back in Sipekne’katik, but came up empty-handed there. The 38-year-old driver from Sipekne’katik was let go with conditions, pending his court date.
Passenger Ashley Rose Kent, 35, of Sipekne’katik, wasn’t so lucky. She’s facin’ some serious charges: possession for the purpose of trafficking, resisting arrest, and three counts of assault on a peace officer. Kent was released with conditions and is set to appear in Shubenacadie Provincial Court on September 14.
Looks like the boys got their man... and woman. Stay tuned, folks.
