SWN RCMP BUSTS DRUG TRAFFICKING RING, ARRESTS THREE

· πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ Canada · 2026-07-24 · 1 min read

The Southwest Nova RCMP Street Crime Enforcement Unit (SWN SCEU) swooped on a drug trafficking operation, dinging three suspects and seizing a stash of contraband. On July 20, officers kicked down a targeted traffic stop involving a Chevrolet Camaro and a Honda Civic on Hwy. 14 near Windsor. They busted the driver and sole occupant from each vehicle, hauling in both cars.

Search warrants at two homes in Windsor and St. Croix turned up quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, unstamped tobacco, cash, a real firearm, and a replica. Marshall Garwin Burgess, 34, from Newport Station, copped five charges under the Criminal Code, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and Excise Act. He’s in custody pending future court dates. The other two suspects were released but will face firearms and drug trafficking charges. The Criminal Intelligence Service Nova Scotia backed the takedown. If you spot any sketchy activity, call Crime Stoppers or your local police.
