π« 6 Popped in Nassau's Mega Gun-Trafficking Bust
MINEOLA, Long Island β The boys in blue just made one of the biggest busts in Nassau County history. Six Gs were popped and charged with a whopping 13 crimes and over 100 counts combined. The operation kicked down a stash of serious heat and narcotics.
Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder revealed that after a 14-month investigation, they recovered 47 firearms, including high-capacity magazines that can hold more than 10 rounds β all illegal. The whole thing started with a routine pullover back in April 2025, leading to an arrest and one gun found. This tip-off set the stage for uncovering a network selling guns across the region, even outside schools.
District Attorney Anne Donnelly emphasized the potential damage: βAny single one of these nearly 50 guns couldβve wreaked havoc in our neighborhoods.β The haul also included 1 kilogram of cocaine and 150 grams of heroin. Some of the seized guns were linked to shootings in Suffolk County and Alabama.
Three of the six defendants are reportedly in the U.S. illegally, with ties to a gang based in Jamaica. Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman boasted about the takedown: βThis will make the whole region safer.β More arrests could be on the horizon.
