A young couple from Merseyside got themselves in a sticky situation after the National Crime Agency rumbled their drug-smuggling operation. Craig Richard Bakker and Marnie Maxwell, both 24, were nicked at Heathrow Airport on Wednesday with 45kg of Thai cannabis, worth a cool £450k. Innit. Bakker, who’s currently on the move without a fixed abode, and Maxwell from Hillary Drive in Crosby, appeared before Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court yesterday. They were remanded in custody and will face Isleworth Crown Court when the date gets sorted. The feds are calling it a major takedown in the war on drugs.
