Brace Yourselves: Brum Solicitor Claims Town's 'Shovelling Cocaine'

Wales Online Original source ↗
It’s a mad ting when the legal eagle starts slingin’ lingo about the whole town gettin’ off their face, bruv. Ben Garvey, 38, from Port Talbot, stands accused of being part of a drug-dealing ring and encouraging his mates to cop coke in a WhatsApp group called 'The Old C***s'. Garvey allegedly supplied steroids and cocaine to friends, with messages showing he was planning big nights out that needed ‘access’ to the white stuff. He even went on to represent Daniel Baker, 34, a dealer who got arrested for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. In one WhatsApp exchange, Garvey backed his mate David Kingdon, a former South Wales Police officer barred from the force after testing positive for cocaine. Garvey wrote: "It doesn't need to be said brother but f*** everyone. We are your brothers and we will defend you to the hilt. Every c*** in Port Talbot is shovelling it (cocaine) down their neck week in, week out." The court heard that after Baker’s arrest, Garvey kept in touch with Jake Blackburn, 28, Baker's runner, passing on messages and passwords. All three deny perverting the course of justice, but Blackburn has pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. Garvey, a former partner at David W Harris Solicitors & Co, denies all charges. The trial’s still rollin', bruv.
