π¨π¦ CBSA Cracks Down: 22 Firearms, 8 Suppressors, and Drugs Seized in Sooke
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) pulled off a major bust in Sooke, B.C., on April 22. The agency, with help from the Sooke RCMP Detachment, Island District Emergency Response Team, and National Weapons Enforcement Support Team, kicked down a door and seized a stash of illegal gear. The haul? Twenty-two firearms, eight suppressors, prohibited parts, controlled substances, and even a bullet-proof vest.
One suspect got dinged during the operation but was let go pending further investigation. All evidence is under review for potential charges. Minister of Public Safety Gary Anandasangaree praised the teamβs hard work, saying it keeps Canadians safe by keeping these dangerous weapons off the streets.
Nina Patel, Regional Director General of the Pacific Region, CBSA, echoed the sentiment: 'Our officers continue to detect, disrupt, and pursue prosecution against criminals who threaten public safety.' If you spot anything sketchy, the CBSAβs Border Watch Line is just a call away at 1-888-502-9060.
